HIV/Fingering Questions?

1. If a woman who I suspect to have HIV (not sure if HIV +) semen, blood or vaginal fluid was on my hands, is it true that the virus would be dead? I read that HIV dies once outside the body, can anybody confirm that, that means that if the semen, blood or vaginal fluid is on your hands (with no scabs, cuts etc) the HIV virus would be dead and impossible to infect you? Also

2. What std risks are there from fingering someone? Is there a bigger risk if you broke her hymen?

3. Is it true that the HIV virus isnt found in the vaginal fluids, semen and or blood when you finger a girl? Its only found in those body fluids when you do vaginal or anal sex?

Im not sure if I washed my hands after the incident. But I heard HIV dies once its airbone thats why I want to know if the blood, semen or vaginal fluid did indeed have HIV, would it die once its on my hands since its airbone. I didnt get sick a month or 2 after the incident, but now im begining to get paranoided about it.

HIV dies almost immediately upon exposure to air. It can not live outside the body.

HIV is found in many bodily fluids; it doesn't matter if you're having intercourse or merely "fingering". HIV is found in vaginal fluids, semen, and blood. It doesn't suddenly decide to appear because you're having intercourse; it's always there.

If your finger is healthy and no wound, you will not be infected. HIV does not die quickly when they are in blood or semen. You may check more info at http://www.positivesingles.com... Report It

I believe there's no risk by "fingering" someone unless you have a open sore on your hand. You cannot get an STD from fingering. You can however, get it from oral sex.

HIV is a virus, which means it has the potential to be transmitted via any body fluid.
Blood is more likely to transmit HIV than saliva. However, vaginal fluids and semen are right up there as vectors with blood.
HIV is a fragile virus in the open, and is easily killed with bleach or soap and water for that matter. However, if you had a cut or wound on your hand, and were exposed to someone's bodily fluids, especially blood, you have a chance (slight, but true) of being infected with HIV, among other things. It's like when a nurse is performing a venipuncture and accidentally sticks themselves with a contaminated needle. The needle breaks the skin barrier.
There are no cases of HIV transmission through casual contact like kissing or touching, but i don't know about genital-finger contact and transmission. If you had no cuts or wounds on your hands, and you washed your hands afterwards, then your risk is very low.
If you are concerned about contracting it, go to your county health department and get an HIV test, they are usually free there or low cost depending on income.
And don't forget to bring your own condoms incase you decide to have intercourse next time. Better safe than sorry.

When we think about HIV transmission, we have to consider QQR or Quality, Quantity & Route. QUALITY: HIV needs a very specific environment to survive: Places with holes for exposure that also close up are great for HIV transmission (anus, vagina, etc). The mouth is not great鈥hat鈥檚 why you don鈥檛 hear about people getting infected via oral sex. QUANTITY: There needs to be enough HIV in the blood (and again within a specific environment) for exposure to occur. ROUTE: For an individual to be infected with HIV, the disease needs to be able to enter the body and attach itself to the nucleus of our cells鈥?this cannot happen through your finger. You would need a hole so big that the last thing you would be thinking about is fingering someone.

2. What STD risks are there from fingering someone? Is there a bigger risk if you broke her hymen?
People use the terms STI & STD interchangeably. STI means Sexually Transmitted Infection and is more accurate. The risk associated with fingering someone is that there is some other STI that she has that can be passed through skin to skin contact; if you鈥檙e fingering her, the risk is in touching your face or your mouth without washing your hands. Chancre sores, Trichomonas, Molluscum, & Scabies are among those STI鈥檚. Additionally, the risk for her is that you fingered her and your hands were dirty or your nails were long.

3. Is it true that the HIV virus isn鈥檛 found in the vaginal fluids, semen and or blood when you finger a girl? Its only found in those body fluids when you do vaginal or anal sex?
That is incorrect. Regardless of the sexual activity, HIV will always be found in the semen, blood, breast milk, or vaginal fluids of an infected individual.

There鈥檚 always the rapid HIV test and free STD clinics run by the DOH in your city.
