HIV/AIDS in India?

In India 80 percent pepole came to know about there HIV status when they came to hospital for some other investigation and check up like,
Ante-natal
family planning
M.T.P.
Prolonged illness
Gyane problem
S.T.D
Tuberculosis
sudden weight loss
extreme weakness
Most of the pepole who detect HIV positive are
poor pepole, mostly single migrants living alone in the cities.
Gays too are at high risk as homosexuality is a punishable offence so they do with whoever come in contact.
Very low level of awareness among commercial sex workers also.
Poor pepole not using condoms because they are spending there whole day earning for five minute fun and they want it full, no intruption so unsafe sex
Very high prevlance of HIV in transgender population but they hardly go to public doctor hospital, because of discrimination for there sex
Most migrants have there respective families back in there home town who too is HIV positive but never tested
In India its a big problem Do you agree?

If yes, what should be done ?

you are right indeed.thanx for a very informative picture and i believe we all will be benifited from your illustrations

Yes, I agree

yes, i agree. it's a pandemic

It is actually more of an opportunity ripe for the research. It is a living laboratory. Cold, but true. One thing I don't understand though is that they don't use Neem to treat HIV. Neem has been proven several times to slow down or halt HIV progression, and it is so cheap that it is practically free in India. Sad that they are so poor they don't even know that.

agreed.
but if you are asking what needs to be done, then useless.
I say useless because you are not in India right now. that's my assumption.
Even If you were in India, no use because discussion on net doesn't help, Unless you yourself could start a campaign to educate people in slums around you or tie up with hospitals and do some voluntary work.

Suggestion: Start from you home. educate your own family and it will spread.

All this is exactly right.
I have worked in Africa for some time and the most prevalent method now is the routine check up at the hospital even if someone presents with just a headache.
Another method that is still on trial is the Door-Door testing where vollunteers go into the vilages and into peoples homes and try to get as many people tested in the family as possible. This is still in the trial phase but looks very promissing.
The other better option is making the drugs widely available and free so that people will have an incentive to test.
There is also still lack of information and a lot of countries still have stigma associated withthe disease. Untill we get rid of that stigma, the same problems are going to persist.
