HIV ELISA result?

Fortunately my HIV ELISA test is negative.I had one risky sex about 14 months ago.
I want to know exact interpretation of negative result(assume that negative result is 100% reliable)
there are two interpretation:
1-i have not infacted by HIV virus at all.
2-i have infacted by virus and my body eliminate all of them.an after some months anibidies have been disappear.
which of them are correct?
in othe word human body can destroys HIV virus completely or body can only postpone transmition from HIV to AIDS?

my main concern it that after risky sex about 15 months ago ,after some months i give my syringe to one of my friend and he
used it.i want to know is it possible that i have had HIV virus on that time and it transfered to my friend body and after it
my body destroy virus and my HIV test result is negative but my friend is at risk?

This is an interesting question. In order to pass the virus on, you would have to be seropositive, so the virus simply floating around in your system, while not infecting you, but infecting others, I would imagine, is not feasible. You have to turn seropositve in order to have enough viral presence in your blood and infect someone from needle sharing.

HIV infection depends on two variables:
The quantity of the virus
The quality of the virus

If these two were high during your risky encounter, then you would have probably aquired HIV (assuming of course that your sexual partner was HIV positive)

The lower the quantity and the quality of the virus, the less chance of acquiring HIV, which will lead to eventual seroconversion. Once seroconversion occurs (you become HIV+), the infection will eventually lead to AIDS.

Before you freak out though, remember, TRUST THE TESTS, Elisa tests after 14 months are probably 99% accurate.

Hope this helps :)

Yes, sometimes the test is accurate. The only way to determine HIV infection is to be tested continuously, as symptoms and latent periods vary from person to person. My net friend in positivesingles.com told me that it is common during the first two to four weeks of infection that people experience flu-like symptoms and enlarged lymph nodes.
