HIV through piercings?

I suffer from anxiety and hypochondria. I have recently contracted the fear of having HIV through my piercings.

All 3 times I have had my ears done (First two times didn't work) I have had it done with a piercing gun.

I never really used to bother cleaning my piercings for the 6-week period (I know it's bad) but now, everytime I wear earrings I clean my lobes, the earrings and my hands (first, obviously) but I'm afraid because when I don't have them in, sometimes I touch my lobes and my hands aren't all that clean.

I have now got a fear of contracting HIV.
Should I get tested or is this an irrational fear?

There is no discolouration of any sort around there, no pain. I know HIV comes with no symptoms but I thought it would help a little.

Please don't tell me I'm stupid - I'm truly scared.

Can I just add I'm only 14? My parents think I'm ridiculous. So I've yet to have sex.

Well, chances are you are HIV free. Unless your sex life is questionable. Go ahead and get a test if you cannot rest not knowing for sure. Try and relax more.
You will be alright.

Have a HIV test and clear your worried mind.

you are a very very very low risk!

HIV is contracted through blood or bodily fluid, millions of people have piercings dont worry, have a test if your that concerned

The chance is really very low, if not non-existant. The HIV virus really does not survive long outside the human body. Official piercers are requiered to clean their equipment. Handling your freshly done piercings with unwashed hands might give you infections, but not HIV.

Hope that helps.

it's not a very very very very low risk, it's no risk, you can't get HIV by just touching an infected ear piercing, your fears are completely irrational, there's no way you could've gotten HIV, from what you describe, you're 100% negative, if you're afraid that you might've touched something unsterile, such as..a door knob..or you might've put on your shoes.. or maybe even wipe yourself after you g2 the bathroom, either way, HIV cannot live outside of the body, if you're seriously think you can contract HIV through that kind of exposure, you might as well not cross busy streets, or fly in airplanes, or drive a car, b/c the chance of you catching HIV is less likely than any of those.
