Extreme paranoia concerning hiv and getting blood drawn?

Maybe some of you guys can help me with my paranoia. I had my blood drawn at the dr's office and tested for HIV because I shared a lancing device used to test blood sugar with my friend. We did not even use the same lancet, just the same lancing device. Also, my friend is NOT hiv positive, which is evidenced by his lifestyle of no sex or drug abuse and his regular blood work. This seems like extreme paranoia concerning HIV, but now I have been obsessing over getting my blood drawn at the dr's office when I went in to get tested. Usually I get my blood tested at a lab, but this time a nurse was the one that took my blood at the office. I never saw her get a new needle in front of me, she came in with the needle and syringe attached already. I am getting paranoid about getting HIV from getting tested for HIV at the doctor's office. I hear it is impossible for them to reuse needles when drawing blood cause of how it is constructed.. Is this true? Can anyone offer insight into this

hi, guy need not have worried about your getting hiv, for hiv's virus dies outside of body very soon. furthermore, the Dr's office you mentioned didn't reuse the same needle at all. I suggest that you visit the website named positivesingles.com to learn more information about hiv, because guys from positivesingles.com have the same experience as you.

Depending on the type of needle, yes it can be reused. However, all medical professionals dispose and incinerate biologically contaminated instruments like needles. If you used the same lancet, then yes you used the same needle. Get tested in 6 weeks and every other month thereafter for a year. By then you will know whether or not you have any diseases from this.

Relax ! Vacutainers are not reusable and sharing a lacing device did not put you in danger either. You need to educate yourself more on HIV and AIDS............

No, the doctors never re-use a needle, and if they do, its the kind they use extreme chemicals to clean.

they stearlize those needles, hiv is a viral, which means it dies outside of the body, and the needles can be cleaned, druggies r getting hiv cuz, there not smart enough to carry some rubbing alcohol with them to kill any viruses...
