Mental Health/HIPAA?

Do therapy sessions with a shrink, have more protection under HIPAA then do regular medical records?

I recently obtained a copy of my medical records from the VA and everything was included. Even private conversations with a shrink. I would at least think they would be kept seperate, but they were not. It was all included. I really don't want perspective employers who I sign a medical release form to, to have access to my drama.

No they don't. A physician has to include everything in his/her notes. Including simple things that u discussed with them. If you don't want an employer getting your medical records(I don't know why they would want it) then don't sign it!
