According to hipaa, how long do i need to keep EOB's from insurance and our Diagnosis sheets? |
i was thinking since there is a doctors note written out that the charge slips(diagnosis and level sheet) can be discarded immediately. as for the Explanation of Benefits, i have no idea. any help is appreciated. thanks Not sure about what HIPPA says but I'd at least keep them until you get a matching bill from the doctor. Allot of doctors have contracts with the insurance and still tries to bill the patient for stuff that should be written off.. make sure they match up before throwing them away!!! You can always call the insurance company back and have them send one to you if you've misplaced it or need to check status of a claim. for a physician's office -- 7 years |
