Question about medical dictation?

Are cassette tape based recorders HIPAA compliant?

I really don't think so as I have done medical transcribing for years. However, the handler's of those tapes are. Privacy is of the up most important to any medical professional.

? I don't understand your question. You mean...do YOU have to be HIPPA compliant to listen to confidential medical information? If so, the answer is yes. :)
