Homework is rarely fatal.

Privacy is an important issue in health care because in this country we have far too many people who do not have insurance and no one will hire someone with a health problem if they feel it will cost them time or money.

But besides that, health issues are very personal. A lot of people wouldn't seek help if they knew their doctor, psychiatrist or whatever, could reveal their problems to anyone.

After 9/11, a lot of our personal privacies were taken away in the name of homeland security. We have all been left diminished by this and we are not more secure.

Thank goodness we still have the doctor/patient privilege left. And even that may not be totally secure since government agencies have access to computer networks and most patient records are computerized.

Sad that in a country that was founded upon individual freedom, big brother is watching.

Privacy about anything is good for everybody. Do you want people knowing your personal business?
Hey, give us your social security number here, and home address, and tell us who you screwed lately and how big your penis is. Is that too personal for us to know? Maybe something that should remain Private, eh? Like which meds you're on and why you're taking them?

I am HIV positive and i think everybody should be tested. Being branded is worth it if lives will be saved and those who think it isn't well that says a lot about their literacy.
