My HDL cholestrol is 39 mg/dl only. Can someone guide me what foods I should take to improve? |
I am 57. All other parameters are okay like LDL-98, VLDL-30, Total-167, TGL-149, Total/HDL ratio-4.3, Blood sugar fasting-114, Blood sugar PP - 154. Psyllium husks (supplement powder, Vitamin world for instance). exercise, more exercise increases this number...... I tried Oats for breakfast 4 days a week, with no sugar; and topped with a fruit ... my favorite is berries. I may be wrong but that seems to be way over the top and would need medical help, I think it should be about 2.5-4.0. Get your Doctor's advice as soon as possible. While diet and excercise play an important role in cholesterol levels, genes do as well: working with a doctor and/or nutricianist are important. There are certain foods that have been proven time and time again to help: cut out other oild than olive; eat lots of fruit; add avocado to your diet; more fibers and whole grains; and certain fruits like papaya help to break down cholesterols and other fats into more easily mangaed forms. I came across this great product for weight loss and it was excellent for me. Together with a good diet and exercise I am finally happy with my body and the way I look.
