After Gynecomastia Surgery? Can you go back to normal work?

after a breast reduction surgery from gynecomastia, the doc has given me a binder for the chest.... can i do work already? i am a nursing attendant...can i go on with my job? and what are the work i should avoid whil recovering?

The first answer is correct. Your doctor should've answered this question because only he knows how severe your case was and how long your recovery should take.

That said, I had gynecomastia surgery on a Friday and was able to get back to work that following Monday. I had to wear my compression vest for a few days, but that's about it. Use common sense when deciding to do anything involving your chest muscles, especially lifting heavy objects. I went back to the gym about a month after my surgery.

If you haven't returned to work already, use a sick day or two to recover.

Your doctor should have answered such questions. I would contact the doctor and find out from him to be certain. I would say no strenuous work...but be sure to ask a professional!
