Will Gynecomastia go away when im 16?

im 14 .... im lucky enough that no ones knows that i have Gynecomastia, and no one has looked at my funny .. i have just recently found out ...

Gynecomastia in babies and adolescents normally does not require treatment and will usually resolve on its own. If caused by medication or disease, stopping the medication or treating the disease will often cure the gynecomastia. If caused by a lack of testosterone and increase in estrogen, hormonal treatment may be prescribed. You can read more about this condition here

what is it???

Harmone therapy will be effective in your case. Sorry to say not only at 16 but till life you will have to live with it.

It is pretty normal to have some amount of gynecomastia at your age. My brothers and I all had some degree of gynecomastia when we went through puberty. During puberty, the body is producing a lot more hormones than before. Excess estrogen results in gynecomastia (and it isn't that you are making a ton of estrogen, a lot of the estrogen is from increased testosterone being converted to estrogen in the peripheral tissues). If it is just some puffy nipples, it is not that noticeable (that is how mine was, maybe an inch across at the most). But if you are developing larger amounts of breast tissue, that might lead to problems (not for your physical health, but from people giving you grief) you might ask your doctor about how to get rid of them surgically. I can't believe I am suggesting surgery for this, but if you had a B-cup or larger, I think it might make you more comfortable. As you get further through puberty, the amount of hormone production should decrease and the breast tissue should decrease. Mine appeared around age 12 or 13 and was gone around age 15 or so.

I'm 15 making 16 in July and my gynecomatia is showing no signs of going away :( I have an appointment with an endocrineologist Jan 29...so schedule me for surgery so I can be normal!!!
