How can i tell if i have gynecomastia or just manboobs?

I am not really overweight and im 14, can anyone tell me if i have gynecomastia or manboobs? How can I find out without going to the doctor?

It's the same thing. Now, I'm going to tell you cause I'm a retired nurse and the mother of 3 grown sons. As soon as all of my boys hit "testostrone city", they got little "boobs". By the time they were 16-17, the boobs go away. You're just in a hormone flux. So, you can do what my kids did, wear a cotton t-shirt under everything(which is in style now) and keep them loose, or just ignore it and notice that all the other guys have them too. There are certain foods that increase the chance of gynecomastia in boys. For the life of me I can't remember which foods they were, but your doctor should know. I know you wanted to keep the doctor out of it, however, if this is something that really bothers you, you may want to consider scheduling an appointment.
