Gum disease?

if i have gum disease will i automatically lose teeth?

There are two types of gum disease that you should be concerned with: gingivitis and periodontitis.

Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums and IS reversible.

Periodontitis is when gingivitis has progressed to a point where it is NOT reversible BUT its progression CAN be stopped with proper oral hygiene.

depending on the stage of your disease your dentist will advise you on how to maintain your teeth. Most likely you will not lose your teeth so don't worry but maintain proper oral hygiene.

no as long as you go to the dentist right away but also if you let it sit for to long it will cause the bone that holds you teeth in your mouth to become infected and then it will start to deteriorate and then you will have to have a skin graft not along of fun
take care of small problems right away than you wont have to deal with bigger problem later

First of all did you already see a dentist for gum disease? You have to have a certain degree of disease to loose all your teeth. You need gum treatments done by the dentist and probably some antibiotics that the dentist can administer right into the gums, called Arestin. If you get the gum treatments and follow the dentists instructions you can save your teeth and gums. They are very important to the health of your mouth.

You will if you do not take care of your teeth. You do not loose your teeth right off though. But get them treated now. FLoss your teeth get in there and brusf as much as you can......
