i have dark purple gums which i find really weird (but i have dark skin so maybe people with dark skin always have purple gums as opposed to pink gums). There is always some blood when I brush my teeth and today when i was eating a pear, my gums felt kind of sore. I'm worried I have gum disease. what should i do? ill b booking an appointment with a dentist soon but wht r tips for dental care? like should i floss regularly? or eat certain foods or do something special after brushing? please help. Whatever you do, don't continue to use floride toothpaste. Floride toothe paste that you use every day may contain toxins that have been linked to cancer, blindness, and even death. Have you checked out the ingredients in your toothpaste or mouthwash lately? Major signs of Gingavitus. Gingivitis is the early stage of gum disease, which can be treated and reversed if diagnosed early. The signs and symptoms are red, swollen and puffy gums that bleed easily. If treatment is not received, gingivitis could progress into periodontitis, an advanced and more serious stage of gum disease which includes bone loss and is not reversible. If you bleed when you brush your teeth, you have a gum problem. Floss vigorously and get a water pick. Your dentist can check out your gums and put a periochip in to kill the bacteria and restore your gums without surgery. My dentist did that for me and then I didn't need surgery. It was a lot cheaper, too Bleeding and/or receding gums indicate gum disease. Brush with a fluoride toothpaste after each meal (or twice a day--once in the morning & once before bed), floss at least twice a day, and if desired, try some Listerine (mint flavor's good) to kill bacteria in your mouth. If your teeth hurt, try Sensodyne toothpaste, which takes care of sensitive mouth issues (works great!!). You should floss every day, brush after eating, or at least twice a day, and have your teeth cleaned professionally twice a year. I would agree with carlover... Be careful about using toothpaste when you have gingivitis or bleeding gums. Also don't use mouthwash or any other alcohol based product to rinse or cleanse your mouth. I have heard some good things about oramd, you might give them a try. I think I saw their product in health & wellness a couple of years ago, and they received great reviews from their testers. |
