My mum keeps getting gum disease, and has had to get teeth pulled out, How to stop gum disease? |
the dentist reccomended to use cepacol, but theres a warning on the bottle saying it can make your teeth go dark!, and ofcourse it did make them go dark! A friend of mine has horrible gum disease. Her teeth always get effected. I think maybe its best to ask the dentist himself just use what the dentist recommended until the bacteria that is causing gum disease is gone, then deal with teeth whitening later. Then just proper oral care, brushing and flossing. That's all you can do to control gum disease. You can also rinse with warm salt water. She may need to have a gum graft. She needs to go to a periodontist for an evaluation and treatment plan. floss after every meal, brush teeth, and use a mouthwash.. there are other mouthwashes besides cepacol..... She needs to find a magic genie and transport her back about 20 years and then go to her dentist regularly- but seriously find a dentist who is capable of fighting periodontal disease. For gum disease you need to be seen by the dental hygienist every 3-4 months - she will start with root planing, if you need it -she will clean your teeth deep down in the gum and this could make all of the difference in saving the teeth and bone around them- it may be too late to save your mom from these problems but not you- gum disease can be passed on from generation to generation:) you cant |
