I have gum disease...? |
I'm 18 and I have gum disease. It's been less than 6 months since I've gone to the dentist, so the insurance won't cover it for a while. I have always gone to the dentist bi-annually. To avoid further complications, make sure you brush your teeth twice a day and floss once a day (Atleast). You already have it - that's what gum disease is. Pay out of pocket to get your teeth/gums back into shape. Gum disease is reversible but it's a shame you've got it at such a young age. Be diligent in your dental care; believe me, you won't like the alternative...BTW, gum disease is linked to heart disease, too. Start flossing religiously. Also brushing at least twice a day and using Antiseptic mouthwash like Listerine twice a day AM & PM. |
