Is there natural cure for gum disease or is just baloney??

After my dental appointment, my dentist gave me a 鈥渃lean bill鈥? but told me to floss more often, because... he suggested "you don't want to be a candidate for surgery" -I certainly not!, I answered, but after reading about gum disease.. man! 60 to 80% of the population has gum disease or will get it at some point, that freaked me out!, and then I wondered, if is there a natural way to cure or treat gum disease, I did some research about natural ways to cure it but, is this a bunch of baloney and you really have to go under the knife? , do you have any kind of experience about this? 鈥ust a little paranoid

Focus on prevention!

If you cut out refined sugars and flour from your diet and eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables you can avoid gum problems, not just because these foods are better for your teeth but they also help to maintain the proper acidic balance in your body, which boosts the immune system. In addition, they maintain the proper conditions in the mouth that reduce bacterial growth. If you don't currently have gum disease, make sure you are eating as little refined food as possible and don't drink sugary soft drinks, especially. If you think about what most people are eating & drinking in this country, it should come as no surprise their gums are rotting.

Pretty much a bunch of baloney.

The best thing to do is follow your dentists recommendations, brush and floss regularly and take some fluoride every now and then. Go to your dentist every 6 months also.

Well you can't reverse the damage to prevention is the key. Brush, floss, mouth wash.

I have receding gums and believe me..it hurts!! Can't even get a dental cleaning without being knocked out.

Children!! FLOSS!!

the cure - brush and floss go to the dentist every 6 months. The doc was probably trying to freak you out so you would listen.

It doesn t get any natural then a toothbrush and floss-do this every day and you will never have to get surgery.
