Can gum Disease?

Can gum disease cause bad breath and what can be dont to reverse the disease

hi, yes. absolutely.
gum, is actually the tissue that cover around the root of teeth. but of course there is bone called alveolar bone for the teeth to seat.
what cause bad breath?
a very bad oral hygiene ( abundance plaque, calculus or tartar) may present with bad breath. plaque, is a soft, sticky substance that adhere on the teeth surface which contain bacteria, food remnant). it forms as fast as 5 minutes after u brushing. become abundance in 3 days, and with the saliva present, plaque being calcified by the calsium ion in the saliva turns to a very hard substance called calculus, tartar. it will occupy the teeth surfaces and gum area. bacteria may penetrate into the gum and create an body tissue responses: antibodies against the foreign bodies or bacteria. which make the gum to swell and inflammed. when u brush ur teeth, u may experiance bleeding. that we called gingivitis.
later stage, if bone destruction occur (bone where the teeth are seated), the teeth will be mobile/ loose. no bone support anymore. that we called periodontitis. at this stage, abcess might present, pain etc.
there are several types of periodontitis. in weak body immunity, ones can also develop periodontitis, such as acute necrotic ulcerated gingivitis/ periodontitis in AIDS patient.
one more thing, people with no saliva, less saliva secretion also may have a bad breath. the mouth/ oral cavity are dried, can't moist the oral environment/ flush plaque in the mouth so they smell badly.
how to reverse it?
easy & simple. just brush 3 times perday. with fluoridated toothpaste. just remember this, gingivitis can be reverse to healthy gum, also can proceed to periodontitis if no treatment or action of brushing are taken place. for a periodontitis to turn back to healthy gum, not all of it will get back their original gum attachment to teeth.

yes & ask a dentist.

Yes,

Ask your dentist to refer you to a periodontist. Dentists do teeth and a periodontist works on gum disease.

Dont' wait the problem won't fix itself. rust me on this one. Go in and have a check up.

Yes,gum Disease

TO BE PERFECTLY HONEST, I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD GUM DISEASE BUT NOT THE TRADITIONAL SIGNS...BAD BREATHE, LOOSE TEETH, BLEEDING GUMS

I HAD IRRIGATION AND SCALING, WHICH DID NOT WORK, BECAUSE EVIDENTLY IT WAS SO ADVANCED...I AM CURRENTLY UNDERGOING, PERIDONTAL SURGERY...I HAVE STITCHES, BUT I AM SURE MY TEETH WILL BE PERFECT WHEN COMPLETE...

IN SHORT...BRUSH, FLOSS, FLOSS AND FLOSS AND MAKE SURE YOU GET THE THE DENTIST...ASAP.

Yes gum disease can cause bad breath, make teeth loose and fall out. You need to see a periodontist and have some quad scale cleanings done. This is a more intense cleaning where they go deeper below the gums to remove and plaque build up and they place some meds in your gums to help the healing process. Some gum disease cannot be reversed but you can maintain it alot better with the help of a periodontist.
