I havent seen the dentist yet, my appt is tomorrow. All my symptoms point to Advanced Gum disease. Will they have to remove all my teeth? What happens now, can my teeth and gums be saved? Please help i am so stressed. I brush my teeth regularly, i floss and rinse. I have had bad teeth my whole life. Can they save yourteeth once they are LOOSE? Try not to worry so much till you see your dentist , they have seen this many times before and will guide you through treatment options . your teeth fall out. duh. Go to the dentist right now. Dentists or dental hygienists "measure" periodontal disease using a device called a periodontal probe. This is a thin "measuring stick" that is gently placed into the space between the gums and the teeth, and slipped below the gum-line. If the probe can slip more than 3 millimetres length below the gum-line, the patient is said to have a "gingival pocket" around that tooth. Maybe, it depends how advanced it is. The DDS will decide when he looks at it. Brush your teeth!!! It depends on how bad it is. If it's in the early stages, most likely you can start to floss and water pick with salt water daily. If that does not work they may send you to a specialist. Teeth fall out. Advanced gum disease with bone loss means you either lose your teeth, as they will fall out without the supporting bone lost, or you go though bone grafts which are expensive, and I'm guessing if you had dental insurance, or money for dentists, you wouldn't have let it get this far. Some of your teeth may be alright. Wearing a partial or a full plate isn't so terrible, your smile will be prettier and you won't have all that pain and worry. It will be better too than leaving the infection in your mouth, it can actually get into your bloodstream and make you ill. My advice to you is to start thinking of your new dentures in ADVANCE. On the brighter side no more toothaches and no more dentist's bills! I have dentures now caused by the same problem. A very short time getting used to them! Now my tongue can touch my nose! On the humourous side I think of them as being just like the stars. They can come out at night! Good luck! No need to get yourself so stressed out!! |
