By improper brushing or the lack of sufficient brushing, plaque drinking after people, eating certain types of foods and not rinsing or brushing afterwords,thrush,excessive drinking of sugared drinks, disturbance of ph levels in the mouth, lack of minerals, saying bad stuff . It is not called that because of chewing gum, but because the disease affects the gums. please slap yourself. please i'm serious nobody can be THAT STUPID wow how old are you or are you just a really big idiot o god, nooo its just a medical term and if antything thats has suger and is consumed with exesss will harm your oral health Gum disease is a simplified term rather like calling paper handkerchiefs Kleenex - strictly speaking gum disease is called periodontal disease or ginigivitis for the milder version or diseases of the periodontium.
