Sharp pains on the neck and temple is caused by gum disease?

Sometimes, my gum hurts (on the upper-right side) and when it does, I experience sharp pains on my right neck and right temple of my head. It all started when I got my darned pre-molar tooth taken out because it hurts so much.

I was thinking that I may have pus beneath that particular gum. What do you guys think could be the problem?

you may have a bad tooth

i know when i had a bad tooth the pain was all on the side of my face and head like yours
remember the nerves run all the way up your face and head
call a dentist and get it fixed

i think it's completely possible. Mouth health is linked to many different systems in our body. It affects us in more ways then we ever think about.

It could be a root rest left by the dentist, if the tooth wasn't removed completely. Or it could be a sist. That is when the abses did not drain completely and some of the puss was capsulled. You should have it checked with an X ray foto by another dentist.

Infection is always a possibility but there are others. One possibility is that an adverse physical strain occured during the dental procedure. This could be from irritating a sensory nerve to irritating the muscles that were stretched to accomodate the dentist. Many times when there is a dysfunction at the neck it will refer pain to the jaw and the reverse is also possible. I have treated many TMJ dysfunction patients with simple neck and postural exercises and manual techniques. At this point many things are possible for your complaint and you should see a professional.

It could be TMJ, an issue with your jaw. Cramming of the teeth inside your mouth, tension/stress can cause you to clench your jaw or grind your teeth without you noticing. The muscles in your jaw are connected to your temples and neck muscles which is why you could be experiencing the pain there. If you chew gum, try to go without it for a week or two to see if this relieves any of the pain. Constant chewing can also cause the muscles in your jaw to get worn out and tighten. If it gets much worse, definitely go to your orthodontist/dentist.
