oh my god i was told this yesterday and cried, i have to crowns at the front of my mouth and the gum is swollen that bad that the crown is actually coming away from my gum which looks upsightly does anyone know if my gum will ever go back to normal when my gums are healthy again , or will i have to get new crowns put on The primary cause of swollen gums is plaque. If left untreated, the gums usually undergoes recession (gumline moves away from the crown!)
If the margins of your crown promotes accumulation of plaque near the gum line, then that's causing your gums to swell.
The gums usually does not go back to its original position once recession has taken place. Best thing to do is to know the actual cause. Then treat the swelling. Have new crowns placed after your gums heal. Well hello again and don't have an answer but i can make u feel more happy!Okay all you have to do is take time out of your day and brush ur teeth and floss and wash and rinse but i hope u feel better! |
