Campylobacter is a bacteria found in the intestines of poultry, cattle, pigs, cats, dogs and some wild birds. It鈥檚 passed through contact with contaminated feces. People can get the infection by eating contaminated undercooked meat or poultry, drinking raw milk or washing food in untreated water. Two to 10 days after exposure, patients develop diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever and, sometimes, bloody stools.
The CDC says Campylobacter is the most common bacterial cause of diarrhea in this country. Each year, about 2.4 million people are infected and 124 people die. Complications can include: meningitis, urinary tract infection, arthritis and Guillain-Barre syndrome. A botulinum toxin?? The toxin attacks peripheral nerve cells at the extremeties and works its way up, also affects the mylen sheath in the axon of the nerve cells, so any messages transported are many times slower. salmonella Botulinum (botox) and all those infections occurred in Hollywood or Chapaqua.
