Are you suffering from grief, and how are you dealing with it? |
I am looking for stories of strength & hope to share with other grief survivors. I was kind of grieving over someone a few years ago, it was my grandmother. She was always there for me and then she just went away.. I went to the wake, to say my goodbyes.. and I got so many people mad because I didn't cry or shead a single tear, I just sat there staring at her and looking around at everyone else.. I never left my mothers side and I just kept try to comfort her.. when finally one of my cousins asked why I didn't show any saddness what was wrong with me.. My answer was simple and my grandmother told me it before she died.. "When someone dies they want you to remember them but they don't want you to be crying over their death, they want you to take what they've taught you and share it with others, they want you to smile and think that they are in a better place that they will always be looking down at you.. but most of all they want you to be strong and help those who grieve though there pain..." Thats what I did, I focused on everything she said.. and it helped me though my grieveing even if some people say I wasn't grieving.. I was, I was just hiding it to be strong for everyone else.. I am suffering with grief of painful heart-break with someone I truely loved and cared for. If you wish to chat, IM me. I need to share my emotions with someone anyway. Honor the object of your grief by living forward. Oh Grief.Thats a hard one because everyone handles it so differently.I myself have been through my share of it more then anyone should have to in a lifetime.I recently came out of another heartbreak it took alot of therapy and baby steps, but im back, only to find out my dear brother has Lou Gherigs,My Dad heart disease, has all stents, and my dog whom I love very much is at the end of her life also,so I am gearing myself up for some major losses.I continue with therapy,I have learned distraction and coping skills and I just pray I can make it through the next set of anguish.Good luck |
