How can I most effectively deal with my sorry and grief over this situation?

I inherited a car from a much loved relative who passed away a year ago. The car was hit and is totaled and I have to get rid of it now. (Keeping it is not an option). I am grieving all over again, because saying goodbye to the car is like saying goodbye to my beloved aunt all over again. Good ideas on dealing with my grief will be greatly appreciated.

How much would it cost to get it fixed? I will send you the money.

Wow, I can see how you feel bad.

You just have to realize that a car is just a -thing-. It's nice to have something to remember someone by, but your aunt was a PERSON and the car is just a THING. Things are temporary, they wear out. Your aunt will live forever in your memory.

I'm sure she would forgive you. If she loved you as much as you loved her, she would just be glad you weren't hurt. (How do you think she'd feel if you suddenly showed up in Heaven and said to her 'Hey, Auntie, remember that car you left me? . . . '

We ALL make mistakes, it's just part of being human. Sometimes it's hard to forgive ourselves, but you know your aunt would forgive you!

Stay busy with friends and loved ones it should help getting your mind off of stuff, you will be alright.

Try logic. It always works for me.

It is going to take a little time Lisa hang in there you will see that everything will work out hang honey hang.
