Guilt and Grief?

I'm fifteen, weigh 128 lbs(58kg) with the height of 5"5' (165cm) and I'm a female. I was going on a diet on my own for a while. For the past month I've been cutting on junk food. Since last week I've got serious about it and did at least an hour of exercise a day and ate 1000-1200 calories. Just yesterday I over ate (about 2500 cals) and I feel really horrible, I don't know what to do. I lost all my motivation and too scared to go on the scales again..I need advice on losing weight..

great way to lose weight is to wire your mouth shut, but, it is not very smart! The bad feeling is a good sign that you are serious about losing weight! Don't think in terms of dieting. To go on a diet, suggests there is something wrong with you. The only thing wrong is you are able to utilize calories better than most. So you just need to eat the amount of calories that is right for you! The exercise should be fun (at least not boring) and done in moderation. Forget yesterday! If you peed your pants yesterday, cause you couldn't get to the bathroom in time, you wouldn't still be worrying about it. If you forgot to brush your teeth, you wouldn't still feel bad. Just start over today! Keep starting over when (and if) you slip. You want to look good to yourself and you know what you have to do. Just keep on keeping on. Good luck!
Let us here next year how much you have lost and how good you look! One other thing to remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are replacing fat with muscle, you could actually gain weight, but be a smaller size. So size is the key here!

# 1: You are too young to be worried about such meaningless things. How are your grades?

well the best thing i can tell you to do... is to limit what you eat in portions. eat like 6 really small meals or 3 meals with portions. excercise like you normally do. run whatever you do. you should see results. you just have to work for it. just think that 3 months down the road you could be looking better. im doing that now and i dont like waiting for results but i kept with it and feel a lot better. well i hope i helped. good luck

relax about it

you are already at a good weight, maybe just AVERAGE about 2000 a day and you should lose a little, even you just exercise a little

Sound's like maybe your becoming obsessed with your regimen. This can be a semi-good thing but no to the point that it debilitates you into not wanting to do anything anymore. Pick up where you left off and let go of the fact that you splurged. YOu've done great thus far and if you cheated then don't feel guilty. If oyu don't want to weigh yourself then don't weigh yourself for a few days after beginning your regimen again. Good JOB!!!!!! '-)

you are not overweight so why diet? You need therapy, you need a better self image, suggest you get counselling to work out what your priorities should be.

Listen to me.......you do NOT need to lose weight. I looked at the chart and you are fine. http://www.healthchecksystems.com/height...

Sounds to me like you are right on the edge of an eating disorder. You don't need to lose weight, but you are dieting anyway and then feel guilt and grief from overeating?

Hello! Stop it. You are going through puberty. Your body needs you to eat right and exercise.

Hey, we're all human. It's good that your concerned about your health, although I recommend as a growing girl you get at least 1500 calories a day. Anyway, don't stress! I ate horribly over Christmas but you know what? I exercise and eat healthy 85% of the time so when I WANT to eat something I crave, I try not to feel guilty. Sure, I feel guilty anyway, but 2500 calories is not going to throw you over. In fact, you probably didn't gain anything at all. So please don't be un-motivated. It's the opposite of what you want to do.

Well actually your height and weight are perfect so you really don't need to worry. i think what you are doing is not eating enough on some days which sets you up for a binge b/c you're so hungry. you are already at a good weight, so just try to eat a balanced diet and if you crave something then just have it. also i wouldn't weigh myself immediately after a day of over eating, just give yourself a couple of days to get back on track with everything before you weigh.

First of all, your weight isn't the issue. It's your self image. You are not fat. You are not heavy. If you wish to trim off 10 lbs, or simply look like you have, exercise. Do NOT worry about occasional overeating. It happens to all of us. Just go back to your other diet and exercise and any excess calories will be burned off. Do not eat less than 1000 calories a day, your metabolism will think it is starving and shut down. 1200 to 1500 with one hour of consistant exercise (brisk walking) will do the trick nicely and you will feel fine. Use some light hand weights while walking. Cutting out junk food is always a good idea, the stuff is just garbage anyway. Try learning to like fruit and substitute veggies for snack foods. There are a lot of low salt, low fat snack foods out there, you can use those to help with occasional cravings for junk. Please don't hurt yourself, you are not overweight, you just sound like maybe you need to build muscle tone and mass, which by the way will help you burn fat calories incredibly fast. The more muscle you have, the more fat gets burned. Good luck and be good to you.
