To be blunt: 3 major causes of hyperthyroidism are: I had a hyperactive thyroid when I was younger, dr said it was fairly common for young people to have a hyperactive thyroid. Mine went away on its own after about a year with no medication and hasn't come back (that was 8 years ago). i had hyperthyroidism when i was in my early/mid twenties and had to have surgery to remove it but it came back about 8 years later but carbimazol worked that time. i was told that it was just one of those things with no particular cause, although iodine deficiency, not over exposure can play a part. the worst thing for me was the palpitations, i truly thought my heart was going to beat through my ribs at times. |
