When will I loose the weight i gained while taking Tapazole for Graves Disease.? |
I HAVE BEEN REALLY FRUSTRATED AT TRYING TO FOCUS MY DISEASE AND LEARN AS MUCH AS I CAN. I HAVE A STRESSFUL JOB AND A DISEASE THAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. I AM A 35 YO MALE WHO USED TO BE IN ATHLETIC SHAPE (GYM, , SPORTS AND ETC.) NOW I REALLY WATCH WHAT I EAT (LOW CARBS AND HIGH PROTEIN), DO NOT DRINK OR SMOKE, I GO TO THE GYM ALMOST DAILY...AND I STILL GAIN WEIGHT....50LBS TO BE EXACT. WILL THIS EVER DISAPPEAR? You shouldn't stop taking your tapazole with out contacting your Dr! You will start having Graves Disease symptoms again! Do you go to the Dr. regularly and get your T3, T4 and TSH checked?? You may be taking to much tapazole now. My thyroid levels are always changing! I have had Graves disease for the past 10 years but have been within normal range (for thyroid levels) for the past 3 years. I have had may of Endocrinologists say that your thyroid can eventually "burn out" and then you go Hypothyroid and have to take a different medicine. Always keep your Doctors appointments and get your levels checked regularly! i had graves two years ago and i lost 80 lbs in four months the doc said graves means having a overactive thyroid and that's why i lost the weight if you have graves and gaining weight my best guess would be its the meds your on because having a overactive thyroid makes you loose weight not gain it.I got a lot of use full help from the National Graves Disease Foundation |
