Gout/ blood pressure medicine?

i am taking lisinopril/hctz 20-12.5 for 4 months and my blood pressure around 116/64 before taking the medicine it was 152 to 160/70-80
i had gout a year ago and my uric acid was 9.3 i didnt take anymedicine i keep losing weight and it come back to 8.0 while taking blood pressure medicine and the doctor check it after one month again and it was 8.0 and the doctor told me i dont need any medicine for uric acid coz its in normal range 3.5 to 8.5 but even that i got pain in my leg for 5 days then its gone , maybe i was in vacation and i ate alot of fish for one months
my question is
does uric acid level 8 is normal and i dont have to worry about it ?
is it ok to to be in hctz 12.5 ( idont know if its increse uric acid but its small dose)
i talked to my doctor about it and he told me your uric acid come down while in medicine but at the same time i was losing weight and lose 50 pound
i really need some advice from doctors , pharmcist and people with same experinces

I have had gout for 10 or so years. 8 seems high my Dr wants my uric acid levels down below 6 at the very least. High levels of uric acid dont always mean that you have gout. The only certain way to check is to perform a test on the joints. The Dr. takes a needle and jabs it into the affected area and extracts some fluid to check for crystals. This sounds pretty painful especially during an attack but thats only because it is. But it's worth it to make sure its gout and not something else. Also dropping in weight will often trigger an attack. Drink lots of water and avoid purin rich foods. Check into colchicine and indocine to treat an attack. Even though it can trigger an attack losing weight(being thin) helps minimize the frequency and severity of attacks so if you lose weight try to keep it off.

I'm not sure about 8.0 for uric acid level. Maybe you're using a different type of measurement? I thought normal urate level should be somewhere between 2.5-4.5
My urate level was 5.0 when I had my attack last year. Last week it's gone up to 5.4 (after I lost almost 20lbs) and I'm experiencing soreness on my foot. However, the sore I have this time isn't on the big toe (like last time) and the pain isn't as bad. So maybe it's just different for everyone everytime.
My doctor told me to take medication for the rest of my life, but that's doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
