Gout Pain Very Painful?

Does anyone know how to treat or been treated for Gout.I have been on Allopurinol,Probenecid Indocine, colchine for years not having much luck plus on diets, any alternative medicine that you may have tried for gout and got relief for awhile from the pain.Feet, toes, ankles, knees, elbow, and shoulder

my mother and my husband suffer -and I mean suffer!!
He just takes painkillers and moans, but she being older, has worked out all the foods that exacerbate it. Eat nothing with ac id in it like tomatoes and pineapple and oranges . Cheese is very bad and so is white wine. I dont know about red wine because nobody drinks it. Actually very little fruit at all
all veggies are safe. Salads (minus tomatoes) white meats I believe that red meat is not good either.
She eats a lot of chicken noodle soup and salad sandwiches
but the worst offender for her is cheese.. the pain killers BTZ that work best promote bleeding from the GI tract . It is a horrible complaint, totally miserable and very hard to treat and it's not fair that it appears to be a joke to some people,

drink plenty of water, eat celery and drink black cherry juice.
one medication that i found that cured the attack when it started was "decoflenac 100mg" every time i feel the pain starting i pop one of those and let me tell ya 15 minutes later I'm running.
take care. Report It

Try TART cherries! Go to http://www.fruitinstitute.org/ for more info!!!! Report It

My aunt found that when she lost weight and cut down on fat in her diet, that it helped her gout a great deal.

well a few ideas, hope they help
steroids oral can be helpful if your uric acid level and sed rate are high, cozaar can help if you also have high blood pressure, tricor can help if you have high cholesterol. feel free to email me with any questions, good luck

A driver who delivers to my company has gout and swears by cherries and cherry pits. Some medicine he takes that is made with ground cherry pits. You might want to check into that. good luck and stay away from the tomatoes

My sister-in-law gets bad gout attacks in her feet. She has had to stop drinking red wine...apparently this makes gout attacks much more painful.

She also swears by sour cherry juice. Apparently she read somewhere that this would help relieve the pain, and she managed to find some, and says it helped. Apparently it has to be sour cherry juice extract...not a juice that you would buy for drinking, but more of one that's used for cooking. The stuff she gets comes from Europe, but I don't know the name.

my husband has it he takes celebrex arthritis med.

I've never had gout, but I hear it is very painful. Usually it affects the big toe, but I've never heard of the pain in other areas of the body. Are you sure it is gout, and not some other disorder like fibromyalgia, which produces pain all over? Gout is generally caused by a buildup of uric acid crystals. If the battery of meds that you're taking hasn't helped, it would appear that you're suffering from something else. I would get a second opinion. And no, I haven't heard of any alternative medicines for gout.

go to a health food store and ask them. They recommend some kind of black cherry seed or bark. Hope this helps!

Sad to hear your conditions. I suffered from it 3 years ago after blood test revealed high uric acid. After knowing what diet to avoid, eg, sardine, organ meat, etc. and take up some light exercise, eg brisk walking to maintain a healthy weight, I 'm off Allopurinol. Drinking plenty of water daily is important, it helps to flush out the toxin in the body. Cherries and celery juice are believed to be a good remedy for gout.

Pain killers are only temporary relief from the conditions, diet, exercise and weight control is the ultimately answer.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, God bless!

( I'm from Singapore )

Avoid the foods that you are supposed to avoid when you have gout. Diet is key and it will take some time to get the uric acid crystals out of your system. Stay away from all soft drinks!! Drink pure water and organic milk.

Look into doing a colon cleansing treatment like "Colonix". My husband had psoriasis as well as gout and after doing some extensive research decided to do a colon cleanse. Not only did the "Colonix" rid the psoriasis and gout, he also lost 25 pounds and had more energy then he'd had in years. He had been on medication for the psoriasis but it did not work nor did the medication for gout.

Many of the additives that are put in our foods are causing people to become very ill and prescription drugs have so many side effects they generally cause more harm than good. Go to the following website for more information and I wish you well!!

The treatments that work are the ones you are on. Diets are an important part of treatment. Keep on with that too.
