Is it gout?

I have a small soft lump on the top of my foot, and its making my foot throb, I was told by a neighbor it sounds like gout. IS IT??

Gout is actually a form of arthritis that is brought on from excess consumption of protein. As with other forms of arthritis it is a problem in joints. Fortunately gout will clear up on its own over time if the person cuts back on their protein intake. The daily value that an average American should eat is 50 grams of protein....most consume much more. Having a lump on the top of your foot doesn't really seem like a problem that gout would cause considering it is a joint problem.

Did it come on suddenly? Can you walk? Do you eat a lot of cheese, drink wine? Red meat?
You may have gout did the MD see you and run labs?

If it doesn't feel better tomorrow go see your doctor.
Or if it goes away and happens again. This is gout.

I hope you get help and relief. I just have to pass on something about the gout, I was told that gout is suffered due to lack of sex, honestly

Usually gout is within the joints and the lumps( or tophi as they are called) appear about ten years later. In other words is the pain in your ankle or great toe joints? Is it red and inflammed warm to the touch? Hmm

gout affects the joints, you don't get lumps with it. it is caused by uric acid in the body.
the fluid in the joint crystallizes making the joint extremely painful. the pain is acute
