Antibotic Treatment for Gonorrhea? |
My understanding is that antibiotics are generally used to treat Gonorrhea, and due to resistant strains of Gonorrhea lots of types are used, does this list of treatments include Clindamycin and or Sulfameth/Trimethoprim? Over the years, Gonococcus the organism that causes gonorrhoea has developed resistance to many of the antibiotics that used to treat it effectively. In my part of the world, sulfmeth/Trimeththroprin also called septin, will not cure gonorrhoea any more. You would need broader spectrum antibiotics. Also, it is not enough to treat gonorrhoea alone you must look for and treat other bacteria which are often accompanying it, In fact, best bet is a culture and sensitivity test to determine the best medication. ceftriaxone, cefixime, ciprofloxacin, or ofloxacin typically Go to MD and get tested and treated by a qualified health care professional...don't mess around with this STD/STI...it's nasty! Good Luck! |
