Gonorrhea or something else? |
I tested positive back in mid-January for Gonorrhea, but negative for everything else. I was given Azithromycin and something else intromuscularly. It cleared up but there was an open wound/sore at the time. That healed up and closed over... but then it started to raise up and now it's a very prominantly raised bump - looks very similar to a pimple but that now is giving out the same discharge as when I had gonorrhea in Jan. I was at the Dr's and got tested on Monday and told to see a urologist b/c he wasn't sure what the raised thing was, as well as I was given Ciproflaxacn 500 mg for twice daily for 10 days - ideally to clear up for sure whatever it is. I'm still awaiting the results if it's positive or not, but does anyone know what this raised pimplish thing is? It's not painful at all but giving out discharge. If you know what you are talking about, i.e. you're a doctor or medical worker - email me if you would like to see a picture of it to perhaps help id what it is. Thanks. Only another exam and lab workup will resolve it Sweetie. It's seems that you have a resistant strain of some bacteria and may need a combination of IV antibiotics for a while. You may not have to go into the hospital for it. Most insurance companies cover home IV therapy. So, if that's what you need, then you will be fine once you get the proper treatment. It could be genital herpes, ask your doctor to test you. I work in the medical field. The bump you are describing could also be a staph infection. Maybe you should ask your doctor to take a culture and test it for staph. |
