Where does the gonorrhea bacteria come from?

I know the that gonorrhea comes from the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae, but how do you get the bacteria?

-Long story short. My homeboy's girl have gonorrhea and found out she has had it for two weeks. Now my homeboy is about to get tested for it. They both claim they didnt have sex with no one else. [[i think she did]], but in a perfect world... What happen if they both are telling the truth? How can you get the gonorrhea bacteria? Not by washing right, having to much sex, etc?

Hey Jackie!

First off, someone's not telling the truth. If one of them got gonorrhea, then one of them had sex with an infected person. That's the way it is.

The only way to get gonorrhea is from vaginal, anal, or oral-genital contact with an infected person.

Also, some people "cheat" by saying that giving oral isn't sex. You bet it's sex, and you can get it from oral sex with an infected person.

I'm glad they're getting tested. And they should get tested for HIV/AIDS, syphilis and other diseases too. It just takes having sex one time to get them.

i'd like to know that too because that happened to my friends last year and they both swore they werent cheatin on each other and i believe them both...so i would like to know where else you can get it from. and no matter what anybody else says there has to be another way of contracting it...because how did the FIRST person get it??? exactly...doctors cant even answer that.

Hi,

Gonorrhoea

This is an infection easily transmitted by sexual contact. The causative organism can infect the throat, producing severe soreness; the urethra, causing burning, painful urination and it may also infect the anus and the rectum. Untreated gonorrhoea may lead to urinary tract infections and ultimately kidney failure.

The most common initial symptom is a thick discharge from the urethra which may be white or yellow. There may be painful urination. Gonorrhoea is often associated with the presence of other sexually transmitted diseases.

Safer sex behaviour may reduce the risk. The affected person should be given adequate treatment with antibiotics. It is also important to locate and test all the other sexual contacts and treat them to prevent re-infection of the primary patient and further spread of the disease.

Having a mutually monogamous sexual relationship with an uninfected partner.
Correctly and consistently using a condom greatly reduces the chance of acquiring an STI.
Using clean needles if injecting intravenous drugs.
Having regular check ups for STIs even in the absence of symptoms.
Anyone diagnosed as having an STI should:
Be treated to reduce the risk of transmitting an STI, especially a pregnant woman to an infant.
Follow the full course of medicine.
Avoid sexual activity while being treated for an STI.
Ensure that the partner is also diagnosed and treated

Good answer Dr. Mojo. I totally agree.
