Can gonorrhea cause infertility or erectile disfunction?

My husband is approaching 40 and had a wild past. I have only just recently found out that he had gonorrhea (before he met me) but says that he took medication and he is now clear. We have been trying for 2 years for a baby - no success.

gonorrhea is a bacterial infection that can invade a male urethra, epididymus, prostate and seminal vesicles. It is possible that it can lead to infertility in a male but it is unlikely especially if it was treated. Infertility from gonorrhea is more comon in women, because gonorrhea usually happens together with chlamydia and together they cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) scarring the tubes leading to infertility. Even though the concominant infection is also very likely in males, it is less likely to cause infertility.
