Is it possible to contract gonorrhea from an infected throat?

there is an issue with another guy and myself, where i have tested positive for gonorrhea of throat and he has for his penis, which is more likely, that i gave it to him or that he gave it to me, he state that he has only been with me, i was with another 6 weeks prior to the sexual contact so i find it unlikely it came from me, but have read that gonorrhea of the throat usually does not give obvious symptoms other than a sore throat

i don't think u gave it to him; in my opinion that is unlikely..ask your self if he is true when he says he has only been with you.

Probly!!

yes u could very well have given it to him being u did that to another guy and he had it

an STD is ONLY contracted through SEX. Whether it's intercourse or not. You can get it in your mouth, your throat, your anus, whatever sex 'things' you do, will spread the infection. (even if both of you use 'toys' on each other...the infection will spread through SEXUAL contact with the infected person. Fluids !!! )
So if you have a sore throat, it's not an STD, unless you GET an STD and get the sore throat from that. (strep throat is NOT an STD).

Infections of the throat are usually asymptomatic, but in some cases may cause a sore throat. This condition is diagnosed by a throat culture, utilizing a cotton swab; most cases of gonoccal pharyngitis are caused by oral sex with a partner infected with gonorrhea.
The mainstay of treatment is the appropriate use of antibiotics. While penicillin was the most common antibiotic used to treat gonorrhea up until the 1970s, an increase in antibiotic resistance has led to a decline in its use. Recommendations for first choice treatment of gonorrhea must depend on local information on resistance patterns and it is not possible to make treatment recommendations that are applicable to all parts of the world.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a report on Thursday, April 12, 2007 officially adding gonorrhea to a list of super bugs that are now resistant to common antibiotics according to CDC.

Possible Complications:-
BOTH SEXES

Throat gonorrhea is also known as Pharyngeal gonorrhea. Throat gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted bacterial disease (STD).

TRANSMISSION
If you are heterosexual and/or indulge in oral sex, the chances are that it may be gonorrhea of the throat. Throat gonorrhea is transmitted via oral sex with a person infected with gonorrhea.

SYMPTOMS
The only symptom of throat gonorrhea is a general or acute sore throat(Pharyngitis).

DIAGNOSIS
Notably, the standard strep throat testing generally fails to diagnose gonorrhea. It can be identified only with a gonococcal culture. Of course, the lab or the clinic has to be specially notified that the specimen is being sent for gonococcal culture and no the general testing.
