Goiter thyroid gland?

my father has a previous surgery of goiter 30 yrs.ago. Now, that he is 68 yrs old he found out that the goiter is coming back as he saw and feels it. He is afraid of a surgery also he is old. Any medication or herbal medicine that could alternate to get rid of it...

well you coulod go to a doctor and see wat he says.... if he suggests surgery tell him no and ask about medicines... good luck!

Goiter is the defiency of iodine in his system.
Iodine is found in many seafoods and salt.
He should eat a lot of fish, crab, lobster, shrimp, any seafood really, but mostly fish, and try to eat salt with more of his foods.

However, if the goiter persists because of late iodine intake to prevent it, he may have to get surgery again, I'm sorry.
But if you go to the doctor you can ask for any medications with iodine in them.

Once you have a goiter you need the surgery. I know someone who died because she refuse to have the surgery. The goiter basically suffocated her. Persuade him to get the surgery. They will also biopsy it to make sure it isn't cancerous.

Many people get goiters, they are pretty common. Just because he has a goiter doesn't automatically mean they will operate, when he had the surgery that was 30 years ago, things are a lot different now. He should go and at least get his levels checked. They likely wouldn't want to operate anyways because of his age.
