its caused by graves autoimmune hyperthyroidism,the eyes deposit mucopollsaccharides and fat resulting in them bulging forward ,the symptoms are hyperthyroidism ,heats intolerance ,weight loss,palpitations ,hyperphagia ,sweating ,.pretibial myxedematous swelling ,and in the eyes ,strain ,restricted movements and occasionally diplopia or ulceration due to incomplete closure and dry corneas
