I have a goiter, but my thyroid levels are normal. It hurts. What should I do? |
I had an ultrasound over the summer that found a nodule in my thyroid. This past week, it started to hurt and I noticed it's gotten bigger. It's little bigger than the size of a dime. Should I get another blood test to see if my thyroid levels are still normal? How can this be treated? Will it continue to grow? Could it be cancer or something else I should worry about? My doctor didn't seem too concerned. get yourself a new doctor. You CAN fire your doctor. THEY WORK FOR YOU!! You have the right to fire their butts and seek out another doctor that will help you. Go see another doc as soon as possible..you should not have to put up with any pain or growth with this thing. Get a second opinion from another doctor. Some doctors are sloppy in their work. If there is pain, that is a good reason to have it removed. Another doc may take a fine needle biopsy to make sure it isn't cancerous. There are lots of things they can do for it i.e. iodine scan. But if there's pain see another doctor. |
