No. A goiter is a thickening/enlargement of the tyroid gland located in the front of the troat, just under your "adams apple". A goiter can get quite large and very obvious. A large neck can be a hereditary trait. If you are really concerned, talk to your physician about having tyroid studies done, specifically TSH( tyroid stimulating hormone), TS1, TS2, and TS3, which are the thyroid stimilating hormones.
