Wat complications will i hav if i hav to hav a goiter removed?

It depends on your health ! Ask your doctor first about it!! I had radiation done on mine and no surgey because my doctor said my heart rate was to fast at the time for surgery so they did the radiation treatment and it destroys it . It was my thyroid and yes i have to take thyroid medicine now to replace my thyroid horomone and always will . With surgey they can tell how much of the thyroid to take out but with radiation they can't tell how much is destroyed ! But it was fine for me, and beside i don't like the risk of surgerys!! it's up to you and what your doctor thinks your risk are ! good luck!!

they could remove your parathyroid glands by mistake, and if they take out your whole thyroid, then you will need to be on thyroid meds for the rest of your life...
