Is it Glaucoma? Is surgery an option?

I have extremely bad near-sightedness. The diopters for my glasses are 8 and 8.5, and change roughly 1.25 diopters per year. I visit my eye doctor every 6 months. I get headaches very often and have a slight sensitivity to light. There is a history of glaucoma in my family as well. My question is, do I have glaucoma and what options do I have for correcting my vision? Would eye surgery be best? (I am only 16 years old).

I'm no doctor, but my wife is totally blind in one eye and legally blind in other and had several procedures and surgeries on her eyes. In my opinion it is not glaucoma since my understanding of that is that is like a cloud or fog that keeps getting harder to see through and with glaucoma you would not have to keep getting stronger prescriptions. I will not comment on laser surgery because I assume if this is an option it would have been discussed with your ophthalmologist.
