What is glaucoma, eye drops? |
what is glaucoma? what makes it better what makes it worse, what causes it? thanks everyone - I have a hard time keeping up with the eye drops. glaucoma is not easy nor simple. most health care professionals dont understand it. there is even debate among eye care professionals as to who has glaucoma and who doesnt, how to define glaucoma, how to diagnose glaucoma and how to treat it. Here's a good link... It's an eye disease, it needs proper treatment , it can make you BLIND! Keep asking questions until you understand. it's not humiliation to you to let a dr know you don't understand him/her...it's humiliating for them...if you don't understand something, don't ever be afraid to ask for an explanation...you pay good money for their care and what good is it if you don't understand them??? anyway, the drops are to help lessen the pressure in your eyes...glaucoma is very high pressure inside your eyes that closes off your field of vision...you don't ever want to stop the drops before a dr gives the OK...it's important to follow those directions exactly or you will eventually be blind...your vision probably got better because the drops are working...that's why you need to take as directed...good luck... |
