Glaucoma/Eye Pressure drops?

I was given eye drops for glaucoma/high eye pressure about four years ago. I was faithful in using them the first two years, but then my husband's job changed and we had to buy insurance that won't cover my eye visits or medications, so I had to stop. Are there any programs that help people who have regular health insurance, but no vision insurance?

Your regular medical insurance is what covers your prescriptions, whether its in pill form or eye drops. Glaucoma is a medical diagnosis and therefore will be covered by your regular medical insurance. Vision insurance only pays for the exam and post-refractive services (frames, lenses, or contact lenses) So you should be safe with getting your drops refilled with your new insurance. Just give the pharmacy your new card.

Good luck!
