An opthalmologist can make a thorough assessment of the disease process. He will measure the intra-ocular pressure of your eye and see if there is nerve damage. He will also prescribe medication to lower the intraocular pressure of the eye with glaucoma. Glaucoma is a structural problem in the eye where there is poor drainage of the fluid inside the eye. There are also surgical treatment called iridotomy which will be using lasers.

There are eyedrops that your doctor can prescribe as well as surgical intervention.
