I have Glaucoma, is it still ok to use contact lenses? |
Is it ok to use contacts even though you're having glaucoma but you're taking drops? I really hate glasses. My mom keep insisting that I should wear glasses coz it might decrease my grade (eye grade: right-5.25 left-4.25)..-> which means i also have Myopia (near sightedness)..but i'll wear contacts during school days and remove it when i reach home then use glasses...? is that ok?.. i really hate glasses.. and as much as possible..im avoiding lasers..pls help..thanks in advance It is not a problem to wear contacts when you are being treated for glaucoma. If your dosing is twice a day, then you need to put the drops in in the morning right after you get up. Then wait about five minutes and put your contacts in. Then after you take your lenses out at night you put your second drop in. If your dosing is once a day (for instance when using a drug like Lumigan or Travatan) then just put the drop in after you take your lenses out at night. Hope this helped. The most important point is that you do what your Doctor reccomends. We have many people that have glaucoma and wear contacts at our practice. You just need to do what the Docto says. O^O |
