Has anyone found an alternative cure for glaucoma that works?

I am interested in knowing if the supplements offered on the internet for glaucoma actually do lower eye pressure. None of them seem to offer reseach or testimonials to substantiate their claims.

In Allopathy (Modern English/westen/contemporary medicine) , the available treatments are

1. Lowering pressures in the eye by Eyedrops
2. Surgery - when drops are not effective
3. Laser surgery - before actual surgery is considered
4. In end stage of the disease - eye drops and visual aids
5. In end stage with painful eye - shunts which is again a surgery.

Um...I don't think that there is an actual cure, but there is a surgery available - though I don't think that is what you are looking for...here's something interesting; I've never personally used it, but you could try it...it's called Bilberry. An extract of the European blueberry, bilberry is available through the mail and in some health food stores. It is most often advertised as an antioxidant eye health supplement that advocates claim can protect and strengthen the capillary walls of the eyes, and thus is especially effective in protecting against glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. There is some data indicating that bilberry may improve night vision and recovery time from glare, but there is no evidence that it is effective in the treatment or prevention of glaucoma.

Remember that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not tested homeopathic remedies for safety or effectiveness. There is no guarantee that they contain consistent ingredients, or that dosage recommendations are accurate. It would be a serious mistake to use homeopathic remedies and dismiss valid therapies, delaying proven treatment for serious conditions.

Your question says it all "None of them seem to offer research or testimonials to substantiate their claims".

In some cases Glaucoma is secondary to say allergies or medication for allergies...........................

The person must see a doctor and find true cause of this condition, there are various test.

Eliminating the cause may be the real answer.

Glaucoma can be controlled by means of an FDA approved eye formulation drops containing Timololal maleate. It was proved for its efficacy in controlling the intra occular pressure.
There are drugs now been discovered from herbal sources called Forscholii their efficacy has been proved. But large amounts of tests should be still performed on toxicity and efficacy.
All these alternative medicine formulations have to be standardised by respective analytical methods and clinical trials.
Glaucoma is related to eyes.No medicine that was taken internally or through oral route do not work sincerely. It has to be in the form of an eye drops. The drug must act locally on the iris of the eye and decrease the pressure generated by the optic nerves.
Please do not believe these medicines those are published on the Internet. You are dealing with eyes my friend.Do not believe or use them. They are all dangerous.
