How Long Can Glandular Fever Last? |
I have had glandular fever for the past 3 months. A month before i was diagnosed i moved house, was working full time and teaching dance classes. And 3 weeks ago i got married. I know this all seems a lot and was wondering if anyone else has had glandular fever during a really busy time and how long it takes to be better. I am now off work indefinately, should i see an improvement now. The main symptons i am now left with is fatigue and when i get tired i get a severe headache across the back of my head. This only occurs when i have had a busy day and have been stressed. It's like asking "How long is a piece of string?" Hi ,poor you ,it is awful isn `t it . The main thing about getting over glandular fever is you need plenty of rest. The fatigue usual passes after a couple of months but by the sound of it you could have M E or chronic fatigue syndrome. I do not want to frighten you because glandular fever is horrible on its own but usually when people try and overdo things after a bout of G F their immune system is depleted. If I were you I`d look up M E ,chronic fatigue on the net and if you find it sounds familiar go back to the doctors with your finding. Hope you get the help you need, much love. I can sympathise with you. 22yrs ago I came down with gladular fever when my son was only 4 months old . I became so fatigued and run down I had to stop breast feeding . I too got those awful headches , chronic sore throat and couldnt sleep well . This went on for months and took a good year to pick up . It is so important to rest and have understanding people around you . I couldnt rest having a newborn and a workaholic husband and no family support. Now 22 yrs later I still suffer with the same symtoms when I've been through a stressful period or over exert myself. My advice to you would be to Rest Rest Rest My daughter has it since last week and i pity her so much.she sleeps all the time and is barely eating ,she is only seven years old.Today she showed me her belly she has a red bump rash thats starting to spread, doctor said maybe allergic reaction to the med.I would not wish the disease on my worst enemy, get some extra rest and no activity.I also read that it can last months, the fatigue that is. |
