Glandular fever??? excuse?

I was seeing a nice bloke and everything was fine then he went all quiet on me blaming it on glandular fever saying he wont be able to see me for a while as it contagious yet he is still working it just seems like such a lame excuse not to see someone he says it could take months so he cant see me ? Is it really that bad or just a bad excuse

I know it can last a while but if hes at work with other people it cant be that bad.

lol, yes, it is a really lame excuse... i'd be so insulted if a guy thought it would work on me.

He should either be able to see you, or not be able to see anyone.

Tell him it's ok as you've got it too see what he says then.

It's kindof annoying if you're going out with him...it can only be transported through bodily fluids, including saliva, which means that if you kiss him, you'll get it or become a carrier, i.e. give it to the next person you kiss. Basically it's like tonsilitis/cold thing, you're glands become imflamed, possibly with a fever, which can last several months and weaken your immune system. Oh and in very rare cases it affects your spleen. But it's also possible to have it not at all badly...it varies a lot. You won't get it just through being around him.

Edit- In a lot of people it seems just like a cold, but they're a bit more tired than usual, and it might last a bit longer. There's no way he'd give it to the people at work.

I had glandular fever when I was 15 and I was hospitalised for 2 weeks. I was also incapacitated for about 3 months afterwards. It wasn't contagious, but it was debilitating. He maybe doesn't want you to see him in a weakened state.

Trust me youll know if you have glandula fever, it is the worst most painfull thing ever! Everything is wrong with you sore throat headaches, sikness, achy etc. Alot worse than a cold! I doubt hed be working if he had it
